The business model and consultancy HUB for young "urban farmer’s entrepreneurs” is a proposal that aims to engage young people in urban agriculture by fostering locally-oriented economy and socio-environmental development by promoting opportunities for Latin American immigrants in the city of Curitiba - Brazil. The project, developed in partnership with Fazenda Urbana (space for food production and educational and inclusive center for sustainable agriculture), with the support from the city hall, the State Information Center for Immigrants, Refugees and Stateless Persons of Paraná (CEIM) , the National Rural Learning Service (SENAR) and the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (SEBRAE), seeks to connect and train these young people through the HUB to conduct urban agriculture business projects in existing spaces already mapped in the city of Curitiba. The project can also benefit from an existing law in the municipality, which encourages the adoption of public squares or gardens by private organizations, which can be other actors integrated in the system, who can invest in and support the business models presented by interested young immigrants. The HUB also guide these young people through consultancy for their business proposals, and connect these producers to buyers of the cultivated products, as well as organizations in the municipality that work directly in the areas of food security, such as popular restaurants, markets and gastronomy and nutrition schools.
